PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland firefighters responding to a report of a fall late Monday night found a 16-year-old boy unconscious at the bottom of a cliff at Rocky Butte.

Fire & Rescue spokesman Paul Corah says the boy suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. Corah says it appears the boy accidentally fell more than 80 feet down the east side of Rocky Butte in northeast Portland.

He says it’s the third accident this year involving a fall at Rocky Butte. One resulted in a death and two others including Monday night’s fall involve serious injuries.
