EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Veteran safety Deon Grant has resigned with the New York Giants.

The 32-year-old who started eight games last year in his first season with New York was back at training camp on Tuesday after getting a call from the team the day before.

Grant, who became a free agent after last season, says other teams called his agent in recent weeks. But he felt that he would return to the Giants at some point. He added he feels he has some unfinished business after the team missed the playoffs with a 10-6 record.

Grant finished with 68 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and three recoveries. His presence allowed the Giants to three safeties on the field in some situations.
