PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — One of the seven women accusing an anesthesiologist of sexual abuse has filed a civil lawsuit Monday against Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles.

The lawyer for the 66-year-old woman, Gregory Kafoury, told The Oregonian (http://bit.ly/nf4f0W ) she feels the hospital didn’t take her seriously because she was under sedation during an operation in February. The lawyer says she was lucid despite the anesthesia and told the surgeon who reported it to a hospital administrator.

Hospital CEO Duane Francis says administrators first heard reports of sexual abuse in May and immediately notified police.

The lawyer says the day after the operation Dr. Frederick George Field went to the woman’s bedside and told her she had been hallucinating. Field was arrested last month and charged with rape and other sexual abuse.
