LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — Greek club Volos has lost an emergency appeal to get back in the Europa League after being disqualified for alleged match-fixing.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport says it dismissed Volos’s request to freeze a ban imposed by UEFA, and approved Luxembourg club Differdange to host Paris Saint-Germain in a playoff-round, first-leg tie on Thursday.

Volos eliminated Differdange in the third qualifying round while Greek authorities investigated a match-fixing scandal.

Volos will start the league season with a 10-point penalty and its former chairman was banned for life.

CAS says Volos will have a full hearing later to appeal UEFA’s sanction of exclusion from three more seasons of European competition, deferred for five probationary years.
