Eugene mom sentenced for leaving daughter in car

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A Eugene woman who left her 2-year-old daughter in a hot car was sentenced to a month in jail and three years’ probation.

KVAL reports (http://bit.ly/quxk1O ) the sentence for 26-year-old Amanda Nichols was part of a plea deal with prosecutors.

The girl was treated at a hospital and released to her father after she was found alone in the car while her mother was shopping.
