LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Galaxy have traded Juan Pablo Angel to Chivas USA, clearing a roster spot for newcomer Robbie Keane.
The Galaxy traded Angel across the hallway at Home Depot Center on Wednesday for a third-round pick in next year’s supplemental draft.
Los Angeles agreed to terms on Monday with Robbie Keane, the Irish national team captain and Tottenham Hotspur striker.
The Galaxy had to clear a spot among its three designated players for Keane. Landon Donovan and David Beckham aren’t going anywhere, so Angel was moved after a disappointing season in Los Angeles.
