LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska cornerback Alfonzo Dennard is out indefinitely with a pulled leg muscle.

Coach Bo Pelini announced Dennard’s injury after Wednesday’s practice. Pelini didn’t say when the injury occurred.

Dennard is the most experienced member of the Cornhuskers’ secondary. He was a first-team All-Big 12 selection last season despite being overshadowed by New York Giants first-round draft pick Prince Amukamara.

The 5-foot-10, 205-pound senior from Rochelle, Ga., is one of the nation’s top returning corners after intercepting four passes and breaking up seven others. He returned an interception 31 yards for a touchdown in the Huskers’ regular-season win at Washington.
