SEATTLE (AP) — The Seattle Mariners have completed their trade with the Detroit Tigers by acquiring right-handed pitcher Chance Ruffin.

Seattle and Detroit completed the transaction on Wednesday. The initial trade on July 30 sent pitchers Doug Fister and David Pauley to Detroit for outfielder Casper Wells, left-hander Charlie Furbush and infield prospect Francisco Martinez.

Ruffin was a supplement first-round pick in the 2010 amateur draft by the Tigers. He’s spent his first pro season split between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo with two appearances for the Tigers.

Ruffin is reporting to the Mariners, who designated left-hander Aaron Laffey for assignment to clear a roster spot.

Seattle also signed a pair of 16-year-old Venezuelans to international contracts on Wednesday: pitcher Victor Sanchez and outfielder Jose Leal.
