WASHINGTON (AP) — Prosecutors say a lawyer for Albert Haynesworth has repeatedly offered money to a waitress who alleges the NFL defensive lineman sexually abused her to try to enlist her help in getting the case dismissed.

Prosecutors said in a filing Thursday that on “numerous occasions” Haynesworth’s lawyer approached the waitress’ attorney offering money.

Haynesworth’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden, denies he had offered the woman or her lawyer any money to in relation to the case that is set for trial Tuesday.

Haynesworth is accused of sliding his credit card into the waitress’ bra and touching her breast while having drinks with friends at Washington’s W Hotel in February.

The former Washington Redskin now plays for the New England Patriots.
