Brush fire near Spokane started by stolen truck

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Firefighters were called out early Friday to a brush fire in the Nine Mile area near Spokane.

KREM reports (http://bit.ly/rsYsZ8 ) the fire was started by a burning truck that had been stolen.

Nearby homeowners spotted the flames about 2:30 a.m., and firefighters built a line to protect homes.
