SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Favored Gitchee Goomie won by a nose over Rogue’s Jewel in a tight finish over the Saratoga Race Course stretch Friday to win the $100,000 Yaddo Stakes for fillies and mares bred in New York.

Alan Garcia rode the 4-year-old, Rick Violette-trained Gitchee Goomie, who ran 1 1/16 miles over the inner turf course in 1:44.38 and earned $60,000 for owner Patsy Symons. She paid $4.10, $2.90 and $2.50 after her third win in six starts this year.

Rogue’s Jewel returned $7 and $4.30. Frivolous Buck, third of eight, paid $3.50 to show.
