SEATTLE (AP) — A body has been found in Lake Washington near the spot where a 21-year-old man fell off a personal watercraft and disappeared.

The Seattle Times reports (http://bit.ly/mX2JtV ) that police and fire crews were called out Saturday to recover the body, which was spotted about 10 feet from shore by a man who was walking his dog north of Seward Park.

A Seattle Fire Department dive team, Police Department Harbor Patrol boat and U.S. Coast Guard helicopter searched for an hour for the man who fell off a Jet Ski-type watercraft at about 6:30 p.m. Friday.

A boater threw a life jacket toward the man and then dived into the water trying to save him.

A companion of the victim swam to shore.
