BEND, Ore. (AP) — The Deschutes County sheriff’s office says a man rolled his car on a Forest Service road near Pringle and then fled the area on foot, leaving four children at the scene — three girls ages 13, 10 and 8 and a 2-year-old boy.
The children got out Monday and were helped by friends. One of the children was hurt. Medics took that child and the three other children to St. Charles hospital in Bend.
The man returned to the crash scene a short time later and was arrested for drunken driving and other charges.
