BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Police say a former University of Idaho faculty member suspected in the Monday shooting death of a 22-year-old graduate student has been found dead in a Moscow hotel room.

Moscow police say the body of 31-year-old Ernesto A. Bustamante was found around 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday at the University Inn Best Western and he appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police say a warrant was issued for Bustamante’s arrest after officers found a woman dead at a Moscow home late Monday. The female victim has not yet been identified but is believed to have family in the Boise area.

The university says Bustamante, a former assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and Communications, was hired in 2007 and resigned this month.
