UNDATED (AP) — Firefighters report progress Monday against two wildfires in Washington.

The Forest Service says they expect full containment late Monday on the Tumwater Canyon fire that burned more than 450 acres near Leavenworth and shut down a section of Highway 2 last week for a time.

And firefighters report 40 percent containment on a fire that broke out Sunday afternoon and burned about 400 acres of grass and sagebrush north of Grand Coulee dam.

The National Weather Service has warned of a high wildfire danger Wednesday in south central and northeast Washington because of dry winds.
