PHOENIX (AP) — WNBA leading scorer Diana Taurasi is sitting out her second straight game for the Phoenix Mercury because of back spasms.

Taurasi, averaging 21 points this season, sat out Tuesday night’s game against the New York Liberty. She also didn’t play Saturday in a win over San Antonio, the first game she has missed this season.

The seventh-year pro from Connecticut is also the league’s top free-throw shooter and has the second-most 3-pointers in the WNBA with 55 in 24 games.

Taurasi was named to her fifth All-Star team this season and was the 2009 league MVP.
