ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Texas Rangers have recalled right-handed reliever Darren O’Day from Triple-A Round Rock.

Texas made the move before Wednesday’s game against Boston to have an extra arm in the bullpen. Long reliever Scott Feldman is still recovering from a 90-pitch outing Sunday.

Taylor Teagarden was optioned to Round Rock.

Manager Ron Washington says he wanted to make sure the team was “OK in the bullpen.”

O’Day has a 3.86 ERA in 12 appearances for Texas. This is his third stint with the team. He missed more than two months while on the disabled list after surgery to repair a partial tear of the labrum in his left hip.

Feldman pitched 4 2-3 innings Sunday in relief in a 10-0 loss to the Chicago White Sox.
