Salmon Creek — Clark County’s Salmon Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant received the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Outstanding Performance award for 100 percent compliance with laws and regulations to protect the environment during 2010.

The Salmon Creek plant was honored for passing environmental tests, analyzing water samples, submitting reports on time and finishing the year without any permit violations, such as sewage spills.

“Your excellent record demonstrates that dedicated operators run the Salmon Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and their continuing efforts lead to outstanding compliance,” wrote Kelly Susewind, manager of Ecology’s Water Quality Program, in a letter to the Board of County Commissioners.
