OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Gov. Chris Gregoire’s summer vacation in Idaho has now lasted three full weeks.
Gregoire spokesman Scott Whiteaker said Thursday that the governor plans to return to the state for events next week and will officially be back in Olympia on Sept. 5. She departed for Idaho in the first week of August.
Whiteaker says Gregoire is still getting regular briefings, making phone calls and keeping in touch with staff. Lt. Gov. Brad Owen is available to address any issues that may arise while Gregoire is gone.
Gregoire is not seeking a third term.
