PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Lightning strikes have set off dozens of small wildfires in the south and central parts of Oregon.

Officials at the federal firefighting agency in Portland say none have turned into major blazes.

New fires are reported in Umpqua National Forest on the west side of the Cascade Range in Southern Oregon and in Klamath Falls and Lakeview area on the east side.

The Warm Springs reservation also reports a cluster of fires ignited by lightning.

The storm passed through late Wednesday. Another storm with lightning is expected on Friday.
