Pursia is a 3-year-old, female, brown shorthair tabby. She’s not a lap cat but loves to explore new territory. She’s still a friendly girl and loves to follow her favorite person around — and beg for treats. She has lived briefly with other cats and a friendly dog but would probably do better in a house without other pets.

Cali is a 5-month-old American pit bull terrier. Cali has been in foster care and is potty trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. She knows sit, wait, leave it, drop it and out. She seems to be a quick learner. Cali does like cats but has a tendency to chase them. She would do best in a home with a fenced backyard and no female dogs. It would be best for her to meet any male dogs that would be companions before going to a new home.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
