PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Police say a bomb planted in a child’s tricycle outside a shop in northwestern Pakistan has killed at least eight people.

Police officer Mohammad Hussain says the shop is located in a bazaar in the town of Risalpur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The bomb went off Thursday night when shoppers were buying goods for an upcoming Muslim holiday.

Hussain says nine other people were wounded by the explosion, which damaged several shops and two hotels. Hussain is the police chief for surrounding Nowshera district.
