CANYON CITY, Ore. (AP) — Authorities in Eastern Oregon are looking for a 36-year-old man accused of raping a 12-year-old girl.

Sheriff Glenn Palmer of Grant County says the warrant for John Edward Williams Jr. specifies charges of sex abuse, kidnapping and rape.

Palmer says the crimes were reported on Wednesday, when Williams was last seen in Eastern Oregon. The sheriff says information from a cell phone call put Williams in Limon, Colo., on Friday, perhaps headed to Arkansas or Florida to see friends or family.

Palmer describes Williams as white, 6-foot-4, 250 pounds with hazel eyes, shaved head and goatee.

The sheriff says the victim had been abused for more than a month. He says the charges include kidnapping because the girl was forced from one place to another when the crimes were committed.
