TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A Tacoma bank employee has been charged with robbing six other Pierce County banks.

The News Tribune (http://bit.ly/oaS07b) reports he told investigators he needed the money to support an addiction to prescription pain medication.

Twenty-six-year-old Adam N. Ausen has been charged with six counts of first-degree robbery. He was arraigned Thursday and ordered held in the Pierce County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.

Puyallup police arrested Ausen on Wednesday after identifying him as a suspect in the Aug. 16 heist at a Bank of America branch.

He has confessed to five other robberies.
