EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Transit issues in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene have led to free parking for fans at the Jets-Giants preseason game Monday night.

Curtailed or closed mass transit, as well as road closures, resulted in the host Giants announcing there would be no charge for parking at MetLife Stadium.

Ticketholders who have already purchased a prepaid parking permit for the game will have the cost of the permit refunded or credited to the season ticket holder’s account.
