BROOKINGS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say human remains have been found in a motorhome heavily damaged by fire in a remote area along the Chetco River east of the southern Oregon town of Brookings.

Authorities found the smoldering remains of the motorhome early Monday on state land. State Police Lt. Gregg Hastings says they confirmed the vehicle contained a body.

State Police detectives will be working with the state medical examiner’s office to identify that person.
