The Washougal Eagles #4390 has been doing a lot of fundraising for charities lately. On Aug. 14, the group purchased more than $1,800 worth of supplies for the Vancouver VA Medical Center, including more than 5,200 bottles of water for liver and kidney transplant patients. The group also purchased toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, bus tickets, sugar and creamer, and coffee. Money was raised through donations and fundraising efforts, including nightly games, eagle eggs and spin the wheel. “We are so excited about what we are doing that we look forward to our time together just to raise money for our charities,” one member said. The Eagles aerie has also donated money to tornado relief in Alabama, diabetes research, Guide Dogs for the Blind and a veteran who lost his leg in Afghanistan.
