New Special Forces battalion at Lewis-McChord

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) — A new Special Forces battalion at Joint Base Lewis-McChord will add about 1,500 soldiers to the military base near Tacoma with additional units in Japan and South Korea.

The News Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/oNznv2 ) the 4th Battalion of the 1st Special Forces Group unfurled its flag Friday as its headquarters was dedicated.

The battalion currently has about 400 soldiers and is still growing to full strength.
