QUETTA, Pakistan (AP) — A police official says a car bomb has exploded in southwestern Pakistan, killing at least 5 people

Abdul Jamil says the blast occurred on Wednesday as hundreds of people were leaving a mosque in Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province.

The crowd had just finished morning prayers to mark Eid al-Fitr, the Islamic holiday that comes at the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Jamil says at least 15 people were wounded in the attack.

No group immediately claimed responsibility. Baluchistan is home to both Taliban militants and nationalists who have waged a decades-long insurgency against the government.
