Liberty use big 4th quarter to beat Sky 71-67

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Cappie Pondexter scored 19 points, Plenette Pierson had 17 and the New York Liberty rallied from a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Chicago Sky 71-67 on Tuesday night.

Kia Vaughn added 15 points and Essence Carson 14 for the Liberty (17-13), who had lost two straight and five of their previous nine. Carson had 12 points and Pondexter 10 in the final period as the Liberty used a 22-2 run over a 612-minute stretch in the fourth.

Sylvia Fowles scored 22 points and Epiphanny Prince had 15 for Chicago (14-16), which had won four of its previous five.
