BROOKINGS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say they have tentatively identified a woman found dead in a burned motorhome east of Brookings in southern Oregon. Sgt. Teresa Bowersox says the dead woman is believed to be 21-year-old Ashley Anne Knaus, who lived in the motorhome with her father. He was not home when the time the fire started, believed to be late Sunday or early Monday.

Police say there is no evidence the death is the result of a crime. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but it appears to have been accidental.

A dog was also found dead.

The motorhome was located on state land in a remote area along the Chetco River east of Brookings.
