SEATTLE (AP) — The Coast Guard rescued the crew of one of its own boats after they were sickened by battery fumes early Thursday in the San Juan Islands near Friday Harbor.

The Coast Guard says the 33-foot boat from Bellingham experienced engine problems and the crew was sickened while inspecting the engine.

Another Coast Guard boat from Bellingham removed the crew. One was flown to a hospital in Bellingham for treatment and the rest were treated at a clinic in Friday Harbor.
