CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The ACC championship game will be staying in Charlotte for the next two seasons, commissioner John Swofford announced Friday.

Swofford said it was a unanimous decision by all schools to keep the game in Charlotte and they didn’t consider any other offers. Swofford cited the outstanding support and Charlotte’s proximity to the league’s schools as reasons why the game will remain at the home of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.

The dates of those games will be Dec. 1, 2012 and Dec. 7, 2013.

Saturday’s game between Virginia Tech and Clemson is sold out.
