VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A bank robbery suspect shot by a Vancouver police officer is expected to recover and be prosecuted.

Spokeswoman Kim Kapp said he’s in stable condition Friday and will be booked into jail when he’s released from a hospital.

The man was shot once in the hip Thursday by an officer pursuing a suspect from the armed robbery of a Wells Fargo bank branch.

Kapp says the shooting and the robbery are still under investigation.
