SEATTLE (AP) — A man convicted of breaking into homes on Vashon Island and raping teen girls inside has been sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Seattlepi.com reports (http://bit.ly/vfrQgs ) Brian Chadwick Dublin did not speak at his sentencing in King County Superior Court on Friday. The 29-year-old was convicted during a trial at which he insisted the encounters were consensual or didn’t happen.

Prosecutors said in 2003 he broke into the bedroom of a sleeping 18-year-old and raped her while wearing a dust mask and baseball cap, and that he threatened to kill her if she told police.

Three years later he tried to rape a 12-year-old girl who was sharing her bedroom with her younger sister, and in January 2010, he raped a 16-year-old girl in her bedroom. That teen told police she remembered the assailant from a birthday party she recently attended.

Police eventually linked DNA from a marijuana pipe that Chelan County authorities seized from Dublin in 2006 to the rapes.
