STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut in December means sleigh rides, ice skating and college soccer?

UConn (19-3-2) makes its 11th appearance in the NCAA quarterfinals on Sunday hosting Charlotte (16-4-2) at Marrone Stadium in Storrs.

A win would send UConn to the College Cup for the first time since 2000, when the Huskies won the program’s second national championship.

UConn is coming off a 3-0 win last weekend against James Madison, the team’s 16th shutout of the season and a school record.

Charlotte has scored seven goals in its three tournament wins. The 49ers are making their first quarterfinal appearance since 1996.
