ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Walter Offutt scored 17 points to lead Ohio University to a 61-53 nonconference victory Saturday over Morgan State.

The Bobcats (5-1) improved to 4-0 at home. Morgan State (0-7) dropped to 0-4 on the road.

Offutt got help from fellow forward Ivo Baltic, who scored 14 points. Nick Kellogg came off the Bobcats bench to score 10 points, including three 3-pointers — Ohio’s only 3-pointers. Kellogg’s teammates were 0 for 16 from beyond the arc. D.J. Cooper was 0 for 5 on 3s, but had seven assists.

Morgan State shot even worse on 3-point attempts. The Bears were 1 of 15 from 3-point range, and they hit 14 of 23 foul shots to Ohio’s 20 of 28. Both teams shot below 40 percent.

Dewayne Jackson led Morgan State with 15 points while Kevin Thompson had 13 points and 12 rebounds.
