St. Thomas, Minnesota beats St. John Fisher 45-10

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Colin Tobin ran for 159 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday and St. Thomas beat St. John Fisher 45-10 in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Fritz Waldvogel had two touchdown receptions for the No. 3 Tommies (13-0), who advanced to the semifinals for the first time in school history. They will face two-time defending national champion Wisconsin-Whitewater (13-0) next Saturday.

Ryan Francis returned a kickoff 85 yards for a score for the unranked Cardinals (10-3), who were outgained 408-133.

Quarterback Dakota Tracy and Waldvogel hooked up from 41 yards for a 21-10 lead early in the second quarter. Logan Marks caught a 3-yard TD and Tobin scored from 7 yards out as St. Thomas built a 35-10 halftime lead.
