Swiss team wins 2-man bobsled WCup race

IGLS, Austria (AP) — Former overall World Cup champion Beat Hefti and pusher Thomas Lamparter won the opening two-man bobsled race of the season on the Olympia track Saturday.

Hefti and Lamparter finished in a combined time of 1 minute, 44.24 seconds to beat the German team of Thomas Florschuetz and Kevin Kuske by 0.12.

Steven Holcomb and Justin Olsen of the United States took third, another 0.06 behind the winners.

The World Cup bobsled event on the Olympia track ends with a four-man race on Sunday.
