Sen. Craig Pridemore, D-Vancouver, Sen. Joe Zarelli, R-Ridgefield, and Rep. Jim Moeller, D-Vancouver, stopped into The Columbian on Friday to honor departing political reporter Kathie Durbin and sit in on a front page editorial meeting.

Durbin is leaving the paper after 12 years as a reporter here, where she’s earned the respect of her sources in Olympia on both sides of the aisle. The legislators spoke of their admiration for Durbin at a farewell party in the newsroom and then stuck around for the editorial meeting where they helped choose Saturday’s front page stories and photos.
