Austria’s Kofler wins ski jump World Cup event

LILLEHAMMER, Norway (AP) — Andreas Kofler won his third straight World Cup ski jump event on Sunday to remain top of the overall standings.

The 27-year-old Austrian was fifth in the first round after jumping 125.5 meters. He moved into the top spot after a second-round jump of 129 meters, securing a total of 252 points.

Germany’s Severin Freund and Anders Bardal shared second place Sunday with 249.2 points each, while Austria’s Gregor Schlierenzauer ended fourth with 248.7 points.

Kofler also won in Lillehammer on Saturday and in Kuusamo, Finland last week.
