SHORELINE, Wash. (AP) — King County sheriff’s officers are trying to find a man who raped a 12-year-old girl in her Shoreline apartment north of Seattle.
Sgt. Cindi West says the girl awoke in her family’s apartment early Sunday to find the man in her room. The child’s mother came home from work during the attack and the man fled. Two other children were asleep in the next room.
West says older family members are usually home and this was “just an unusual time that nobody was there.” Officers don’t think the child knew the man and are trying to determine why he picked that apartment.
