INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — NCAA President Mark Emmert says he is asking the U.S. Education Department to help create advisory guidelines for universities about dealing with ball boys, ball girls and other minors on campus.

Emmert told The Associated Press on Monday that he has contacted Education Secretary Arne Duncan to provide help with two of the ugliest scandals to hit college sports. Allegations of child-sex abuse have surfaced at Penn State and Syracuse over the past month.

Emmert also says the NCAA does not expect Penn State to submit all of the information the governing body was hoping to have by Dec. 16.
