European team announced for Duel in the Pool vs US

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Olympians Laszlo Cseh and Daniel Gyurta of Hungary, Lotte Friis of Denmark and Marleen Veldhuis of the Netherlands are among the 41 European swimmers who will take on an American team at Duel in the Pool on Dec. 16-17.

The biannual short-course competition will be at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center, site of the 1996 Olympics.

Among those on the European men’s team are Olympians Markus Rogan of Austria, Dominik Meichtry of Switzerland and Pal Joensen of the Faroe Islands. The women’s team includes Gemma Spofforth of Britain, Katinka Hosszu of Hungary and Ranomi Kromowidjojo of the Netherlands.

The U.S. team is led by Olympians Ryan Lochte, Brendan Hansen, Natalie Coughlin, Rebecca Soni, Missy Franklin, Amanda Beard and Dana Vollmer.
