Kids collect 1,800 pounds of food for area food bank

Ridgefield — South Ridge Elementary School students collected more than 1,800 pounds of food for Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a local food bank, during a food drive sponsored by the PTA. A family movie night kicked off the drive on Nov. 4. About 250 family members and friends attended the event hosted by participants in a new PTA program, Kids Helping Kids.
