DALLAS (AP) — All-Star shortstop Jose Reyes has put on a Miami Marlins hat and joined his new team.

The Marlins formally announced the signing of the speedy free agent Wednesday at baseball’s winter meetings.

The NL batting champion got a six-year contract worth $106 million. Earlier this week, the Marlins announced the signing of free agent closer Heath Bell.

Miami also is trying to acquire free agent slugger Albert Pujols. Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria didn’t mention Pujols by name, but said the team was “working on some things.”
