GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers have signed quarterback Graham Harrell to the active roster from the practice squad and placed tight end Andrew Quarless on injured reserve.

Quarless hurt his right knee in Sunday’s victory against the Giants in New York, and Packers coach Mike McCarthy has said he will need surgery. Quarless played in 10 games with two starts this season.

Harrell has been on Green Bay’s practice squad all season. He originally signed with the Packers in May 2010, spending the first 13 games of the 2010 season on the practice squad before being signed to the 53-man roster.

The team also signed guard Jake Vermiglio to the practice squad. Vermiglio, a rookie out of North Carolina State, was released by the Arizona Cardinals in August.
