Yakima council raises utility, car tab taxes

YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — The Yakima City Council voted Tuesday night to raise the utility tax and car tab license fee.

The 6 percent utility tax increase will help pay for police and other city services.

The $20 car tab increase will help pay for street maintenance.

KAPP also reports (http://is.gd/dabyy9 ) the council voted to continue maintenance of the Downtown Business Improvement District.
