Esther Short — Members of the Fort Vancouver Lions Club gave homemade cookies to the Vancouver Fire Department on Nov. 30. The event was done in conjunction with First Responders Day, proclaimed by Gov. Chris Gregoire to honor men and women who are first to answer the call when disaster strikes. Lions made cookies for the Evergreen and 37th Street stations.
