Letter: Make it one pass for one household

Interesting read on the problem with the state park system, reported in the Dec. 16 story “Budget ax looms over state parks: Clark County sites could each lose 1 of 2 staff members.” I visit the Long Beach Peninsula a couple of times a month, and really miss using the park system there. Why? Because the state messed it up with the requirement of a $30-a-year Discover Pass for every vehicle you have.

Several years ago I bought the pass when it was good for every vehicle you owned. How many of us taxpayers are waiting on the state to fix this? As soon as it is changed to one pass for all of your vehicles, I’m in. I am all for supporting the state park system, but I shouldn’t be gouged because I drove the wrong vehicle that weekend.

This is a classic example of state government jerking the customer (taxpayers) around with a bad idea. Admit it was a mistake and fix it, and see how many sign up and will pay for a pass. Waiting on you, Olympia.
